The Metallurgical Automation Research and Design Institute's high-power AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation system and promotion and application project recently won the first prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award. The project's technical level, equipment manufacturing and engineering application performance have reached the international advanced level, indicating that my country has become a world leader in high-power AC speed regulation theory research, equipment manufacturing, engineering design and commissioning technology. AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation technology is widely used in large-capacity and low-speed production machinery such as rolling mills and mine hoists. Replacing traditional DC speed regulation will produce significant economic benefits. The steel and coal industries at home and abroad have successively adopted and promoted this technology. Due to the complexity of the system, large equipment capacity, and involving multiple different disciplines such as power electronics, automatic control and motors, it has long been monopolized by a few foreign companies, and my country's large-capacity AC speed regulation transmission equipment can only rely on imports. With the support of the National Ninth Five-Year Major Equipment Technology Research and Development Program and the National Natural Science Foundation, the Metallurgical Automation Research and Design Institute has carried out research on this technology and the development of domestic equipment since the 1980s, and has achieved fruitful results. The project has achieved major innovations in theoretical research and equipment technology for many times, and has obtained 7 patents (including 3 invention patents) and 3 software copyrights. It first proposed the damping flux linkage oriented control theory and method, improved the synchronous motor magnetic field oriented control theory, and obtained a Chinese invention patent; established a simulation platform for the AC-AC variable frequency synchronous motor speed control system, and proposed the integrated system theory and analysis method of power grid, inverter, motor, and control system; established a large-scale AC speed control system power grid reactive power and harmonic calculation method and software, and proposed AC-AC variable frequency reactive power compensation and harmonic control methods; successfully developed a load observer using modern control theory to solve the problem of electromechanical vibration of the main drive of the rolling mill; proposed the damping winding theory and design method of AC-AC variable frequency synchronous motor, which led to the successful development and scale of variable frequency synchronous motors in domestic motor factories; established the engineering design theory and method of AC-AC variable frequency speed control system and obtained software copyright; proposed the engineering commissioning theory and method of AC-AC variable frequency synchronous motor speed control system for the first time in China, and successfully applied it to engineering practice. The project has achieved significant results in the localization of AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation equipment. The domestically produced 4-inch high-power thyristors and AC-AC frequency conversion power cabinets have been successfully developed and formed a large-scale industry, with the capacity of the inverter reaching 20MVA. The high-power AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation system developed over the past decade has repeatedly created "domestic firsts" and "China's firsts", and various technical performance indicators have reached the international advanced level. In 1993, the first domestic 2500Kw high-power AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation system was successfully developed; in 1996, the first domestic fully digitally controlled AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation system was successfully developed; in 1999, the first domestic rolling mill dual-machine transmission AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation system was successfully developed; in 2000, the first domestic hot rolling mill main transmission AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation system was successfully developed; in 2001, the first domestic mine hoist AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation system was successfully developed. Due to the long-term unremitting efforts of the Metallurgical Automation Research and Design Institute in the industrialization of high-power AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation technology, it has made a significant contribution to greatly promoting the localization of large-scale frequency conversion speed regulation equipment in my country, bringing significant benefits to enterprises in terms of increased production and technological progress. The application of high-power AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation equipment in the steel industry has achieved significant economic benefits, and has driven the development of power electronics and motor manufacturing technology, and promoted the application of domestic high-power AC speed regulation in mine hoisting, ship propulsion, magnetic levitation traction, oil and gas transportation, motor energy saving, etc. From 2002 to 2004, the sales of AC-AC frequency conversion projects promoted by the Metallurgical Automation Research and Design Institute in the steel industry reached 570 million yuan, with an additional profit of 110 million yuan. The hot rolling mill of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Company adopted a domestic high-power AC-AC frequency conversion system, saving 28.77 million yuan in project investment, increasing production by 30%, and increasing benefits by 117 million yuan that year. The AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation system of Yingkou Medium Plate Plant has been put into operation for one and a half years, with an increase of 4 times in production and an additional profit and tax of 570 million yuan. After the AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation of the main shaft hoist of Huainan Mine was put into operation, the output reached 5.07 million tons and the output value reached 1 billion yuan that year. So far, the Metallurgical Automation Research and Design Institute has promoted 112 high-power AC-AC frequency conversion synchronous motor speed regulation systems to the steel industry, with a total installed capacity of about 876MW. The localization of high-power AC-AC frequency conversion speed regulation equipment has replaced imports, making the market share of domestic equipment exceed 67%, which not only reversed the long-term dependence on imports of large-capacity AC speed regulation transmission equipment, but also prompted foreign companies to reduce prices by 1/2, reducing the investment in rolling mill transmission equipment, and greatly promoting the promotion and application of AC speed regulation technology in my country's steel industry. It has also gone abroad to undertake rolling mill AC-AC frequency conversion transmission transformation projects in foreign steel mills such as Finland and Sweden, effectively improving international competitiveness. |
