Don't be afraid of heavy snow! 3 tips to keep your battery free of frost

Electric vehicles face the problem of reduced range in winter. However, this does not necessarily mean that the electric vehicle has a fault, but rather that the cold weather reduces the activity of the battery, which directly leads to a reduction in battery capacity and charging efficiency. For example, a battery that could originally be charged to 90% can now only be charged to 50% due to reduced capacity, which greatly reduces the range of the electric vehicle.
In cold environments, the battery capacity will be significantly reduced, which will cause the electric vehicle's range to decrease in winter. However, as the temperature rises in spring, the actual battery capacity will gradually return to normal levels. Although electric vehicles are more vulnerable in winter, we have a series of anti-freeze tips that can significantly extend the riding range of electric vehicles and the service life of the battery.
1. Choose a suitable charging place and avoid moisture:
In winter, when encountering rain and snow, avoid moisture or frost on the battery surface, because wet batteries may cause short circuits. Choose to charge in a warm environment, such as indoors or in an underground garage, to keep the battery charged at a warmer temperature.
Before charging, make sure the battery surface and charging port are dry.
Try to choose a time when the temperature is higher, such as during the day or when the sun is the strongest. In cold seasons, the battery charging frequency may need to be increased. Generally, when the battery power drops to about 30%, you should consider charging. After the charger jumps green light, float charge for 1 to 2 hours. This helps maintain the stability of the battery performance, improve charging efficiency and avoid the adverse effects of low temperature on battery performance.
2. Smooth riding
Avoid sudden acceleration or braking, as this will increase battery energy consumption and increase the load on the battery. Maintaining a constant speed will help reduce battery power consumption and extend battery life.
3. Choose low temperature resistant connector:
Choose a battery connector designed for low-temperature environments to ensure stable connection performance even in extremely low temperatures and avoid connector failure due to low temperature.
Amass LC series connectors are made of high-quality PBT material, which can be used in low-temperature environments of -40°C without becoming brittle or breaking easily. The lock is a self-locking buckle, which prevents instantaneous disconnection and has strong plug-in and pull-out force, eliminating the situation where the plug is loose during the use of the equipment and causes shutdown failure, so it can be used without worry in strong vibration scenarios. The product has passed the IP67 protection level, which can effectively prevent the intrusion of water and dust. In severe rainy and snowy weather, it effectively ensures that the inside of the connector remains dry, making it safer to use.
