G1506 Low current boost LED driver chip
Overview:
G1506 is a step-up DC/DC converter designed for driving white LEDs with constant current. The device can use a lithium-ion battery to drive two, three or four LEDs in series. The method of connecting LEDs in series can provide equal LED currents, thereby achieving uniform brightness and eliminating the need for ballast resistors. The switching frequency of G1506 is 1.3MHz, allowing the use of small external components. Since an output capacitor with a value of only 0.22uF can be used, it saves space and cost compared to other solutions. The low feedback voltage of 95mV minimizes the power dissipation of the current regulating resistor, thereby improving efficiency. G1506 is packaged in SOT-23.
