Will 800V high voltage cause serious damage to the battery? [Copy link]

In order to achieve a high voltage in the battery pack, more batteries need to be connected in series. During the charge and discharge process, although the voltage applied to a single battery does not change, and because the battery pack voltage increases, the total current of the battery pack decreases at the same power, but due to the increase in the number of series connections, the current flowing through a single battery is greater. How much impact will this have on the battery life? Is there any relevant evaluation data?

This is true. The starting point of the battery is relatively clear. The current flowing through a single battery is larger. How much impact will this have on the battery life?

If it is just series connection, the original poster's statement that "because the voltage of the battery pack increases, the total current of the battery pack decreases at the same power, but because the number of series connections increases, the current flowing through a single battery is greater" is inconsistent. In fact, if the output power remains unchanged and the voltage increases, the current must decrease.

As for the impact of charging and discharging current on battery life, this must examine the battery parameters including capacity and maximum rated discharge current. As long as it does not obviously exceed the limit of battery parameters, it will not affect the battery life.

[Because the battery pack voltage increases, the total current of the battery pack decreases at the same power, but due to the increase in the number of series connections, the current flowing through a single battery is greater]

If all individual batteries are connected in series, the current flowing through each battery must be the same, and the current flowing through a single battery will not be greater.

Today's electric vehicles are all charged at 800V high-voltage batteries, and a single gun can output up to 480kW/670A, which is amazing!

A few years ago, this technology was unimaginable.
