How to achieve no packet loss, support continuous shooting mode, and reliable and stable data during high-speed operation is the core issue of wireless target shooting, and it is also a problem that wireless communication protocols need to solve.
The wireless communication protocol stack can achieve stable and reliable transmission, TCP large packet transmission technology, UDP reliable transmission technology, variable channel technology, and support laser gun burst mode. The wireless communication has fast response, no tailing, and high determinism.
Usually there are 10-20 targets in a shooting range. In order to prevent the wireless communications of different targets from interfering with each other, it is necessary to set up independent working channels for the wireless communication units of each pair of guns and targets. After the target is hit, it will send a small data packet to the gun controller to inform it of the number of rings, bullet number, and ammunition quantity.
If the target shooting device is switched to the burst mode, a laser beam will be emitted every 75ms or 100ms, and the target position needs to report the detection results to the launch device controller in a timely manner within this time interval. Therefore, the communication process is required to have strong determinism. In this process, if TCP or a similar communication mechanism with a feedback mechanism is selected, it cannot withstand the high-speed timing impact in the burst mode. UDP communication, especially an enhanced, high-reliability UDP communication technology, can well meet the requirements of reliability, real-time and determinism in the single-shot and burst modes during gun shooting.
In the wireless shooting scene, in addition to voice reporting, it is often necessary to summarize the results of all target positions on a monitoring computer or display screen. Note that each target position's wireless communication unit has an independent working channel, and the information summary communication unit is a new independent channel. Therefore, before the shooting device controller needs to send the concentrated ring count or miss information, it needs to switch to the working channel of the summary communication unit in advance. After the communication is completed, it should quickly switch to its normal working channel. If the switch is not timely or the delay is too large, the communication data in the burst mode may be missed.
