The visible light sensor AS7341 arrived as promised. After opening the large packaging box, a delicate black box magically appeared inside. It is estimated that the large outer packaging can hold 10 of them.

Unpack the black box and you will find two anti-static plastic bags containing sensors and connecting wires. But the connecting wires alone can reveal the high quality of the manufacturer's service.

A closer look at the sensor reveals a certain contrast with the black box. If it were not for the anti-static packaging, this box could also run more than a dozen sensors. The front and back of the sensor are shown in Figure 2.

Plug in the connection cable, as shown in Figure 3. From the markings on the board, we can see that the sensor transmits data based on the I2C interface. From the front of the sensor, we can see that it has its own detection light source, which is split on both sides of the sensor.

It is even more interesting to observe the sensor and connecting wires from the side. It is a perfect combination of technology and art. It looks like a cobra with its body coiled, searching for the source of color.

Our next task is to equip it with a suitable brain MCU so that it can truly recognize the color of the environment.
