Fighting back against India? It is said that Huawei will lay off 70% of its employees in India... [Copy link]

According to foreign media reports, multiple people familiar with the matter said that Huawei has lowered its 2020 revenue target in India by as much as 50% and plans to lay off 60% to 70% of its employees , excluding employees in research and development and global service centers.

Foreign media said that Huawei's move was to respond to the sharp decline in demand for the company's equipment and services in the Indian market.
Huawei did not respond to foreign media requests for comment.
Foreign media reported that Huawei's branch in India follows India's fiscal year. In 2017, Huawei India's revenue was $1.2 billion, and has been declining year after year since then. One of the reasons is that Indian telecom companies are in a tight financial situation, which has led to a decline in demand.
People familiar with the matter said that Huawei has currently set its 2020 Indian market revenue target in the range of US$350 million to US$500 million, lower than the previous range of US$700 million to US$800 million.
Huawei expects no new orders from two major telecom customers in India . Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea are Huawei's two major telecom customers in the Indian market. As a result, Huawei plans to reduce the number of full-time employees, contract workers and third-party employees in India, according to people familiar with the matter.
A person familiar with the matter said that the layoffs mainly involve employees in network support, field deployment, outsourcing and sales departments, because the telecom operators have not given any new projects or reached any new cooperation.
Another person familiar with the matter said the company currently only needs some employees to maintain the annual contracts previously signed with telecom operators. Those who still stay in the company are worried about their jobs because there are not many opportunities in the market now.
In addition, Huawei's mobile phone business in India has also shrunk , and Huawei has not launched many devices in India.
People familiar with the matter said that Huawei still has a large number of employees in its R&D and global service centers in India because they are responsible for providing support to Huawei's global business.

In order to survive, large enterprises will inevitably resort to any means necessary. Many things and phenomena, if seen too much, are also a kind of indifference.   Details Published on 2020-7-28 23:36

The United States and its lackeys are really troublesome. They don't allow others to develop. Why do they do such a lose-lose thing? Through the suppression of China in recent years, my view of the United States has changed 180 degrees. Be a good Chinese and don't worship foreigners.

There is no such thing as a "counterattack". It is normal to lay off employees due to a decrease in business volume. This is a typical law of capitalism.
