My 2019 eSports Tour [Copy link]

Hello everyone, I am very happy to share my experience in the competition with you. It has been a while since the end of the competition. Looking back, it seems that the feeling during the competition is still there, that is, "sleepy". During the 4 days and 3 nights of the competition, I slept for about 9 hours. During this period, as long as the battery was charged, I was flying the plane. At that time, I had a headache when I heard the sound of the plane. It was really too painful. I had to repair the plane from time to time (I repaired it, and my teammates thought I was good at hands-on work, haha).
In fact, our group did not make drones at the beginning, thinking that drones were too difficult. Because we are the first undergraduate students of our school (the school has just been upgraded to undergraduate), we were assigned to the drone project by the teacher. In fact, we were extremely reluctant, but there was no way. When I came into contact with drones, there was still half a month before the competition, because it was the first time for our school to buy drones, and it was also the first time to organize students to participate in the competition on a large scale. Hey, everything is the first time. We had to bite the bullet. We got the drone, but we didn't have a place to fly it. We didn't dare to fly it in an open space, and there was no empty classroom for us (the school was on vacation, and the classrooms were locked, so difficult). It was delayed for about three or four days. I had no experience, so I discussed with the teacher and bought a protective net for more than 200 yuan from the Internet. After buying it, I wasted another day looking for a bracket to build it (it was really tiring, my whole body was soaked, and there were mosquitoes). After the site was built, the teacher gave us another 4 days or I forgot how many days, and asked us to complete all the drone test questions in previous years. It was busy again, writing code non-stop (I studied it for several days before writing it, and I couldn't understand the code at all), non-stop test flying, and various crashes during the period. There was no way, so I kept repairing the plane. (Let's talk about the plane here. The plane was purchased from Zhongke Haodian. I won't talk about the price. Those who have bought it know that it is very expensive. The code and teaching video (which didn't seem to be very useful) were provided. The code is very useful. If we did the flight control ourselves, I guess we wouldn't be able to participate in the competition). Back to the topic, we flew and repaired, and finally finished all the test papers of previous years, and we also added circuits of our own design (buttons, sound and light alarm modules, wireless transceivers, laser modules, etc.). Although many of them were not used in the final competition, we learned knowledge about circuits after all, and there is no harm in learning more knowledge. In fact, I prefer to enjoy the process of the competition. I won’t comment on my teammates. We are still very united, which is very important. When encountering problems, everyone calms down and analyzes slowly. We must not let things like “There is no problem with my hardware, it must be a problem with your code”, “There is no problem with my code, it must be a problem with your hardware” happen.
When the competition questions were issued, everyone was dumbfounded when they received the questions. They had never expected that the questions would be like this, which was actually about aerial line patrol. We immediately did a test and found that Openmv could not recognize the lines in the air at all, and was too affected by the background. There was no other way, we had to filter, but we worked on the line patrol filtering for two days, and the effect was not very good. If we were not careful, we would fly off the track and the drone would crash in various ways (and then we had to repair it). In addition, the striped patterns on the ground laid by the organizing committee this time (it felt like it was intentional, the optical flow could not determine the point at all, it was floating around, and the drone would crash if it was not careful). We really had no choice but not to use striped paper to fly. We chose a set of codes for marble floor, a set of codes for tile floor, and a set of codes for pure white floor. We wrote three sets of codes in total and made choices by pressing buttons. Fortunately, the organizing committee finally said that we could bring our own venue (white or striped), and fortunately we had a set of codes for flying on white ground, so we were quite lucky. There is nothing to say about hanging heavy objects. It mainly depends on how well you adjust the PID parameters. If you adjust them well, there will be no big problem, because the aircraft we bought has the adjusted parameters (we also slightly adjusted the parameters), and the flight is relatively stable. But there have been cases where the aircraft lost control (the reason has not been found so far), maybe we are too green. Although we bought the finished aircraft, there are really too many places that need to be modified. I am really grateful to my teammates for not giving up, and I am also grateful to myself for not giving up. Just a few hours before the work was sealed, we felt that there was a problem with the optical flow of the aircraft (the aircraft was always floating around), so we calibrated it, but after the calibration, the aircraft even had problems taking off (it was floating around as soon as it left the ground). Our mentality was about to explode, and we all wanted to cry at that time. We worked so hard for so long, but... Fortunately, we all calmed down. After slowly analyzing, we found that the baud rate of the optical flow was forgotten to be configured. After solving the problem at that time, that feeling was really cool. The work was sealed and completed. During the competition test, our group was arranged to be the last group. When it was our turn, the light was not very good. We felt very bad at that time. Fortunately, there were no major problems in the process of patrolling the line (the detection of foreign objects was realized, but we gave up the recognition of barcodes and QR codes because the resolution of Openmv3 was too low. There was no way). However, we were not very stable when hanging heavy objects (about 8 rings, it seemed to be worse), because it was already dark at that time. Although there was a light, it didn't work much. We reported it to the judges, and the judges gave us a nine ring (happy). The programming part was not too difficult and it was completed in about ten minutes. The moment the plane landed, my eyes were really full of tears (I held back my tears). It was really not easy. My teammates were shaking when they were packing up (obviously). As long as you work hard, there will be rewards. Maybe the rewards will be late, but they will not be absent. In the end, our results were gratifying (provincial first), but due to various reasons, we missed the national competition. I think this summer vacation was very fulfilling and exciting. The process was really good. There is still one year to graduate. This competition is also a rare experience during college. I hope that all students who will participate in the competition in the future will gain something. The final result is not that important. What is important is the process of preparation, the process of the competition, your attitude and ability to solve problems. These are all your life experiences. Thank you everyone. Due to time constraints, I may not write very well. If you don’t like it, please don’t criticize me. ps: The work is still sealed in the competition area as of the time I posted it. There are no pictures of the work. Sorry, I will upload it later when I have time.
