Simulation Study on Application Characteristics of Avalanche Photodiode

This paper proposes a simulation research method for the application characteristics of avalanche photodiodes (APDs). This method combines the application characteristics of APDs with their applications in digital optical fiber communications, establishes a fully digital simulation system, and uses this system to simulate the influence of APD noise and multiplication factor on the reception quality of digital optical communication systems, obtains corresponding graphical results and digital results, and realizes the extraction of the optimal multiplication factor of APDs through the optimization toolbox. The simulation results show that the effectiveness and accuracy of this method are very obvious, and it has certain practical value. Keywords: avalanche photodiode; noise characteristics; multiplication factor; simulation
