The following points should be noted when starting an asynchronous motor:
1) Before closing the circuit breaker and starting, check whether there are any foreign objects on or near the motor and traction machinery to avoid personal injury and equipment accidents.
2) When operating switches or starting equipment, you should act quickly and decisively to avoid generating large arcs.
3) After closing the switch, if the motor does not rotate, quickly cut off the power supply and check whether there are any problems with the fuse and power wiring. Never close the switch and wait or check with power on, otherwise the motor will burn out or other accidents will occur.
4) Careful observation should be made after closing. If the motor rotates slowly, is difficult to start, makes abnormal sounds, or the production machinery does not work properly, or the ammeter or voltmeter indicates abnormalities, the power supply should be cut off immediately. Only after the cause is identified and the fault is eliminated can it be restarted.
5) The number of continuous starts of the motor should be limited according to the technical requirements of the motor. For Y series motors, the number of continuous no-load starts should not exceed 3 to 5 times. The number of continuous starts of the motors with full load or long-term operation until they reach a hot state and then stop and restart should not exceed 2 to 3 times. Otherwise, the motor is likely to burn out.
6) For star-delta starting of cage-type motors or starting using a compensator, if the starting device is manually controlled by delay, attention should be paid to the starting operation sequence and the length of delay should be controlled well.
7) Avoid starting multiple motors at the same time. Instead, start each motor one by one from large to small to prevent the total starting current on the line from being too large, which would cause the voltage to drop too much.
