Functions of DSL module
Diagnostic request processing
● Forward the request sent from the PduR module to the DSD submodule. The DSL submodule should call Dcm_TpRxIndication and return the parameter Result = E_OK before forwarding the received data to the DSD submodule.
● Tester online stay ("keep alive logic"). The "Tester online" command can be sent by the tester through a physical request/response, i.e. the "keep alive logic" defined in ISO14229-1 [1].
Diagnostic response processing
The DSD submodule shall request the DSL submodule to transmit the diagnostic response data.
● Forward the diagnostic response data passed by the DSD submodule to the PduR module. The DSD submodule should request the DSL submodule to transmit the diagnostic response data
● Guarantee the response time to the tester. If the application (or DSP submodule) is able to perform the requested diagnostic task but requires additional time to complete the task and prepare a response, the DSL submodule should send NRC0x78 (Response Pending) when the response time is reached.
● Supports periodic transmission. UDS service reads data periodically through ReadDataByPeriodicIdentifier (0x2A); Periodic Transmission communication can only be performed in Full Communication Mode.
● Support event-based transmission. UDS service requests ECU to start/pause transmission of diagnostic response through ResponseOnEvent (0x86)
● Support segmented response
Security level processing
Manage security levels. The DSL submodule should save the level of the currently active security level. In order to access the Security Level, the DSL submodule provides two interfaces:
① Get the current security level: Dcm_GetSecurityLevel
② Set the current security level: DslInternal_SetSecurityLevel
Session state handling
● Manage session status. The DSL submodule should save the status of the current active session. In order to obtain the current session status, the DSL module provides two interfaces:
① Get the current session status: Dcm_GetSesCtrlType
② Set a new session: DslInternal_SetSesCtrlType()
● Keep track of currently running non-default sessions. When a non-default session is active and the session timeout (S3Server) is reached, the DSL submodule should reset to the default session state ("Default Session", 0x01)
● Allows modification of timing parameters, including P2ServerMin, P2ServerMax, P2*ServerMin, P2*ServerMax, S3Server
Diagnostic protocol processing
● Dealing with different diagnostic scenarios
● Management resources
Communication mode processing
● Communication demand processing (Full- / Silent- / No Communication)
● Indicate active / inactive diagnostic
● Enable/disable various diagnostic transmissions
