There are two types of single-phase AC motors with centrifugal switches. One is a motor with only a starting capacitor, and the other is a motor with both a starting capacitor and a running capacitor, that is, a dual-capacitor motor. The following introduces the connection method of the capacitor of the motor with only a starting capacitor for everyone to learn.

The motor has a centrifugal switch inside and only has a starting capacitor. There are three wire ends outside. Set the multimeter to the 1 ohm range, connect one probe to the common pin of the motor, and test the resistance values ​​of the other two wire ends with the other probe. The wire end with a small resistance value is the wire end from the 2nd end of the running winding, which is connected to one end of the power supply and one leg of the capacitor. The wire end with a large resistance value is the wire end at the 3rd end of the starting winding, that is, the wire end connected to the starting winding through the centrifugal switch, which is connected to the other leg of the capacitor.

There is a centrifugal switch inside the motor, which means that the motor has both a starting capacitor and a running capacitor and has four wire ends. That is, on the basis of the motor with a centrifugal switch and only a starting capacitor, there is an additional wire end of the running capacitor. At this time, you only need to connect one leg of the running capacitor to the wire end interface leading out from the 2nd end of the running winding, and the other leg of the running capacitor to the wire end interface leading out from the 3rd end of the starting winding.
