PLC is the abbreviation of programmable controller. It is a programmable device with powerful functions and is widely used in various automation scenarios. Any circuit containing PLC can be called a PLC circuit. Of course, some PLC circuits are simple, some are complex, and the functions they perform are also different.


1. Simple PLC circuit (few input and output external components, simple program)

1. Description:

This circuit is the PLC external wiring diagram (Siemens smart200) for PLC to control the reciprocating motion of the trolley. The input start and stop buttons SB1, SB2, and SB3 are connected to I0.2, I0.0, and I0.1 respectively, and the limit switches and thermal relays SQ1, SQ2, and FR are connected to I0.3, I0.4, and I0.5 respectively. The outputs Q0.0 and Q0.1 are connected to relays KM1 and KM2 respectively. Through PLC programming, the automatic reciprocating control of the trolley is mainly completed.

1. Description:

The input end of the PLC is connected to the emergency stop switch, start, stop switch, sensor, and output signals from the robot and camera; the output end is connected to the indicator light, solenoid valve (solenoid valve controls the movement of the cylinder), and also outputs the output signal to the robot and camera.

As shown in the program excerpt, the PLC outputs signals to the robot, and M10.1, M10.2, M10.3, and M10.4 can control the output status. The communication code between the PLC and the robot is agreed in advance. For example, the robot receives the 1111 code sent by the PLC to perform the palletizing program, or receives the 1100 code to perform the handling program, etc. The PLC sends a 4-bit code and can output 16 states; Similarly, after the PLC receives the signal from the robot, it can also handle different things according to the corresponding code.


3. Principles of drawing PLC circuits

For NPN input PLC, one end of the input device is connected to PLC, and the other end is grounded; for PNP input PLC, one end of the input device is connected to PLC, and the other end is connected to DC 24V. The output end is the same as the input end.
