Motor selection instructions
Are there many friends who are troubled by the problem of motor selection? Today, the editor will explain motor selection to you.
For example: HCM5-132M-7.5-1500-T4-FITS-B3 indicates that the motor is an HCM5 series ultra-high efficiency magnetic-assisted synchronous reluctance motor, frame size 132M, rated power 7.5kW, rated speed 1500r/min, voltage level 3-phase 380V, self-fan cooling, casing material cast iron, top outlet, single keyway, B3 installation method without flange on the bottom foot.
01
Product range
Benchmarking the national standard motor energy efficiency limit values and energy efficiency levels, we developed two series of products, HCM5 and HCM4, according to the national energy efficiency requirements. The HCM5 series products meet the first-level energy efficiency of the new national standard (GB18613-2020), and the HCM4 series products meet the second-level energy efficiency of the new national standard (GB18613-2020).
INFORMATION
02
Frame No.
The front part of the number indicates the center height, that is, the vertical height from the center of the motor shaft to the plane of the motor base; the back part of the letter indicates the length of the casing, which is generally available in three types: S, M, and L, just like the size of clothes.

03
Cooling method
Self-fan cooling (IC411): With self-fan cooling, the fan is coaxial with the motor main shaft and does not require an external power supply. It is commonly used in scenarios where speed regulation is not required or the speed regulation range is small. Generally, the speed regulation range is not less than 60% of the rated speed.
Forced fan cooling (IC416): Built-in fan cooling, the fan and motor shaft are not coaxial, the fan requires an external power supply, variable frequency motors are more commonly used, and are generally used in scenarios where they often run under low speed conditions.
INFORMATION
04
Outlet mode
Facing the shaft extension end, the terminal box at the 12 o'clock position is the top outlet, the terminal box at the 3 o'clock position is the right outlet, and the terminal box at the 9 o'clock position is the left outlet.
INFORMATION
05
Shaft extension type
Generally there are optical axis, single-key axis and double-key axis. The specific forms are shown in the figure below.
INFORMATION
N: Optical axis
S: Single keyway
D: Double keyway

Installation
There are many ways to install motors, mainly horizontal and vertical.
The most commonly used installation methods are B3, B5, B35, and V1.
1. B3: with base, without direct mounting flange;
2. B5: no foot, with direct mounting flange;
3. B35: with base and direct mounting flange;
4. V1: Install vertically like B5 motor.
