Nowadays, many home appliances are becoming more and more intelligent. For example, if there are TVs, mini consoles (TV boxes), Blu-ray players, game consoles and other devices in the living room, each appliance is equipped with a remote control, and gradually a bunch of remote controls are accumulated at home.
Remote control, when I miss you, watching TV is already a very common activity in the living room entertainment. However, when the living room TV content is mainly based on the TV box, there is obviously a problem - that is, you have to use two remote controls at the same time, one for the TV and one for the TV box. Many people who are used to using the TV remote control cannot accept the TV box remote control. The left remote control controls the TV, and the right remote control controls the TV box. The overly complicated settings and dense buttons are not only troublesome for the elderly to use, but also a headache for young people who are quick to get started.
Especially when the sound suddenly gets louder or the TV screen suddenly plays something that children cannot watch, you are in a rush but cannot find the remote control to turn off the sound and the screen at the same time, which makes you feel so embarrassed that you want to pick your toes! All the smart add-ons cannot offset the pain of not being able to watch TV easily. All kinds of electronic devices with the "smart" label will only be eclipsed in the hands of users and appear not so "smart".
It is one thing to have a remote control that is difficult to operate, but even though there are so many remote controls, you often can’t find them when you need them! “Honey, why can’t I find the remote control?” “Honey, where did you put the remote control?” You can’t find the remote control in a small place. Does the above scene sound familiar?
I often spend a lot of time looking for the remote control. What if the remote controls for the TV and TV box were integrated into one? If one remote control is lost, the remaining remote control can still control the appliance.
Remote control combination trick - HDMI CEC
HDMI has a CEC function, which allows devices connected to HDMI to communicate with each other and respond to commands from a single point without using separate remote controls. In simple terms, it is to control multiple devices with one remote control. This solves the problem of multiple remote controls and combines the TV and TV box remote controls into one. Nowadays, most smart TVs have CEC remote control functions, which can be seen by pressing the menu button.
Our Station host also added this function as early as version V1.3.0. In the Station OS interface, select System Settings - Display Settings - Others, and turn on [HDMI CEC]. In this way, the TV remote control can also control the host while using it.
Before the CEC function is turned on, the TV remote control cannot control the Station host. After turning on the [HDMI CEC] function, press the Home button on the TV remote control to switch from Station OS to TV mode; press the menu button on the TV remote control, select "Signal Source", select HDMI display, and switch to the Station OS system interface. Come and try this function!
