Almost all electric vehicles on the market, even hybrid models, are equipped with kinetic energy recovery devices. Simply put, the kinetic energy recovery system is that when the vehicle slows down or releases the "accelerator", the generator converts the existing kinetic energy into electrical energy and stores it in the battery to meet the demand for charging electricity for the power battery. As for this system, will the brake lights of a pure electric vehicle light up when the vehicle recovers kinetic energy?
Judging from the working conditions of the kinetic energy recovery systems of current models on the market, the vehicle's brake lights will not light up when kinetic energy recovery is involved, because whether the brake lights are on or not mainly depends on the switch on the brake pedal. The operation of the brake lights, the brake light switch controls the grounding circuit, and when the vehicle presses the brake pedal, the pedal and the brake light switch will come into contact, forming a circuit, causing the light bulb at the rear of the vehicle to light up.
The kinetic energy recovery system and the brake light system are two sets of devices. Although the kinetic energy recovery system can reduce the speed of the vehicle, it has no effect on the vehicle's brake lights. When the kinetic energy recovery device is involved in the work, it does not affect the switch on the brake pedal. It can be seen from the work that when the car slows down or brakes, due to inertia, the rotor of the electric motor is forced to rotate, thereby generating current, and the motor is transformed into a generator.
The entire kinetic energy recovery work revolves around the motor, and there is no corresponding mandatory regulation in China for kinetic energy recovery to light up the brake lights. Therefore, many new energy vehicle models in China are not equipped with this function. Therefore, it will indeed cause greater hidden dangers to vehicle users in daily use.
