Semiconductor device supplier GigaDevice (stock code 603986) announced the official launch of the GD5F4GM5 series, a 4Gb SPI NAND Flash product with a domestically produced 24nm process node. This series of products has achieved pure localization and independence in all aspects from design and development, production and manufacturing to packaging and testing, and has been successfully mass-produced, marking that domestic SLC NAND Flash products have officially entered the 24nm advanced process technology era. This innovative technology product will help further enrich GigaDevice's storage product line and provide customers with more optimized large-capacity code storage solutions.
Nowadays, the functions of various electronic devices are becoming more and more complex. In some emerging and even compact applications, embedded operating systems need to be pre-installed, and the demand for storage capacity is constantly increasing. The demand for high-reliability and large-capacity code storage has become a widespread demand in the industry. SLC NAND is both cost-effective in the market and can provide customers with a larger capacity option. Based on this, GigaDevice has successfully launched the 24nm SPI NAND Flash - GD5F4GM5 while ensuring high reliability, taking into account the improvement of capacity and performance, better serving the field of code storage, and is committed to providing large-capacity and cost-effective solutions for 5G, Internet of Things, Netcom, security, and consumer application scenarios including wearable devices.
At present, the GD5F4GM5 series has been fully mass-produced, representing the highest level of mass production of domestic SPI NAND Flash process technology. This product uses a serial SPI interface, has few pins and a small package size. While integrating the storage array and controller, it also has an internal ECC error correction algorithm, and the number of erase and write times can reach 50,000 times, which improves reliability and extends product life.
Compared with the previous generation of NAND products, the GD5F4GM5 series has greatly improved the read and write speeds. The maximum clock frequency reaches 120MHz, the data throughput can reach 480Mbit/s, and it supports 1.8V/3.3V power supply voltage, which can meet customers' needs for different power supply voltages; at the same time, it provides a variety of packaging options such as WSON8 and TFBGA24.
