Hongmeng OS 2.0 has finally come to the fore from rumors, with five major capabilities: cross-device, service flow, ultra-fast direct access, visual and verbal, and privacy and security.
According to Huawei's official statement, Hongmeng OS 2.0 is based on a distributed application framework, which further breaks the hardware limitations of a single physical device and combines different devices into "super terminals" for different scenarios, bringing more new experiences in scenarios such as smart home, mobile office, smart travel, audio and video entertainment, and distance learning.
For example, with the support of Hongmeng OS 2.0, mobile phone navigation can work with watches and provide vibration reminders when turning and changing lanes.
In addition, the adaptive UX framework of Hongmeng OS 2.0 allows developers to quickly reach tens of millions of new devices and achieve adaptation for large and small screens, and for horizontal and vertical screens.
Not only that, Hongmeng OS 2.0 also supports visual and verbal AI empowerment, allowing the App Shujian to gain voice interaction capabilities, support automatic screen recognition, and you speak and I listen.
It is reported that Hongmeng OS 2.0 will release a Beta version for application developers, and will be released for large screens, watches, and car machines on September 10, and for mobile phones in December 2020. Next year, Huawei smartphones will be fully upgraded to support Hongmeng 2.0.
At present, the official website of Hongmeng OS has been officially launched and provides source code download.
The code of Hongmeng OS is open in the form of components, and developers can obtain it in one of the following ways:
Method 1: Download the compressed file from a mirror site (recommended)
Method 2: Obtain components from the HPM website. Use HPM to find solutions that meet your needs, select/cut components, and then download them.
Obtaining method 3: Obtain using the package manager command line tool. Use the HPM command line tool hpm-cli to execute the command to download.
Method 4: Obtain from the code repository. Download from the code repository using the repo or git tool.
It is reported that the first open source version supports running on 128KB~128MB devices.
It will be open source for terminal devices with 128MB-4GB of memory in April 2021, and will be open source for all devices with more than 4GB after October 2021.
