Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Group and five automotive engineering companies held a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation in R&D and design. In the future, Evergrande will jointly develop 15 new energy vehicle models with these five companies, covering a full range of products including top-level, super luxury, luxury, premium, comfortable, and classic models. Evergrande Group Chairman Xu Jiayin and executives from five companies including FEV of Germany, EDAG of Germany, IAV of Germany, AVL of Austria, and MAGNA of Canada attended the ceremony.

The five companies that signed the contract all have many years of experience in the entire vehicle R&D process, including chassis, body-in-white, powertrain, electronics, vehicle integration, interior and exterior trim. They have developed and designed a variety of models for Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Ford and other automakers.

Germany's FEV focuses on the research and development of internal combustion engines, mainly providing testing equipment and accessories for global automakers. At present, FEV has established cooperation with FAW, SAIC, Brilliance and other OEMs in China. EDAG is responsible for vehicle design and currently has a research and development team of 8,600 people in 18 countries. IAV entered China in 2005 and is mainly engaged in automobile body and component design, automotive electronics and powertrain research and development. At the same time, the German Volkswagen Group owns 50% of IAV shares and Continental Group owns 20% of its shares. Austria's AVL is the world's largest company engaged in internal combustion engine design and development, powertrain research and analysis, and related test system and equipment development and manufacturing. It has established relevant cooperation with almost all engine manufacturers in the world. Magna is the world's most diversified automotive parts supplier. The group's products cover almost all automotive parts except automotive glass and tires, and has opened up a large market in China.

Evergrande has made no secret of its ambition to manufacture new energy vehicles, and the speed of investment and expansion seems to be declaring war on global automakers. Since 2019, Evergrande has established cooperation with many companies, including Swedish electric car company NEVS, Swedish supercar company Koenigsegg, and Hubei Taite Electromechanical, with investment exceeding 14 billion yuan in the first half of the year alone, and annual investment is expected to exceed 20 billion yuan. "Hengchi", as its first new energy vehicle brand, has already won the support of many mature technology companies around the world before it was launched. Its appearance may set off a new wave in the new energy vehicle market.

Over the past six months, Xu Jiayin has traveled back and forth many times to Germany, Austria, Britain, Sweden, Italy, South Korea and other powerful automobile industrial countries, continuously expanding his "circle of friends" in car manufacturing.

Evergrande Group established the positioning of Hengchi new energy vehicles from the beginning: "Core technology must be world-leading and product quality must be world-class."

Towards the goal of becoming "the world's strongest new energy vehicle group", in accordance with the positioning of "core technology must be world-leading and product quality must be world-class", Evergrande has completed its strategic layout in core technology, production and manufacturing, R&D and design.

As early as the beginning of the layout, Xu Jiayin set a grand goal for Evergrande's car manufacturing: strive to become the world's largest and most powerful new energy vehicle group within 3 to 5 years, and achieve annual production and sales of 5 million vehicles within 10 years. People familiar with the matter said that Evergrande Group established the positioning of Hengchi new energy vehicles from the beginning: "Core technology must be world-leading and product quality must be world-class."

In addition to building a global "circle of friends", in the field of manufacturing, Evergrande already has multiple production bases in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang and other places. All of them are in accordance with the standards of Industry 4.0, using the world's top production equipment and production processes to build high-end smart factories.

At present, Evergrande New Energy Vehicle has an international and diversified talent team, with more than 6,000 employees worldwide, including more than 2,000 R&D personnel. On September 9, Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Global Research Institute launched a global recruitment, planning to recruit 8,000 world-class experts and technical elites in the new energy vehicle industry, with work locations in nine countries including China, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
