According to foreign media reports, Huawei recently applied for a number of trademark patents at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), including a "HUAWEI ARKOS" (Huawei Ark System), perhaps in preparation for the release of its self-developed system in overseas markets.

Previously, Google announced that it would stop licensing Huawei Android and would no longer provide GMS services and update support for Huawei devices, which would be officially implemented in mid-August this year. Subsequently, Huawei Consumer Business President Richard Yu revealed that Huawei's self-developed OS is ready and will be launched as early as this fall or at the latest next spring. At the same time, Huawei registered the "Hongmeng" trademark in the Chinese market, which is widely believed to be Huawei's self-developed system.

However, "Hongmeng", which comes from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, is obviously difficult to understand for foreigners who are not familiar with Chinese culture, so it is also a routine operation for Huawei to register a new overseas version of the name. "Hongmeng" means the vitality at the beginning of the world, and "ARK" is the giant ship built by God under the guidance of Noah (from the Hebrew Bible Genesis), which also means "a new beginning".

In addition, foreign technology whistleblower Roland Quandt searched for various patents applied by Huawei since 2017 and found a UI patent diagram. Although there is no evidence pointing to it as "Hongmeng OS" or "ARK OS", the bottom navigation bar is slightly different from Android.

It is reported that Huawei's self-developed system will support all platforms, be compatible with Android applications, and increase the speed by 60% after recompiling through the compiler.
