Lenovo Group published an article titled "Keep Thinking, Youth Never Gets Old" on its WeChat official account. In the article, Lenovo pointed out that some people on the Internet are using nationalism as an excuse to criticize Lenovo. They cited the three recent global simultaneous recalls and emphasized that this is the obligation of the manufacturer and has nothing to do with national justice. At the same time, they called on people to think rationally.
Lenovo did not do this out of the blue. A few days ago, Lenovo's official account changed its style and the WeChat editor responded to various questions about Lenovo in the comments. Perhaps Lenovo believes that it is time to fight back against the prejudice against it.
Lenovo official account editor replied to the comment
In Lenovo’s recent public account article, they responded to issues such as “differential treatment of product recalls” and “different pricing of Chinese and American products”.
The following is the original text of Lenovo Group’s official account:
This is the most widely circulated picture about negative information about Lenovo . You have seen it in many places such as forums, Tieba, Zhihu, comment sections of news websites, etc.
To any Chinese consumer, the "Lenovo theory" part would be infuriating.
There is no perfect company in the world. It is not scary if products have quality problems, it is not scary if services are not up to standard, and it is not scary if all kinds of mistakes that should not be made are made. No one is perfect.
But the attitude towards the problem is very important. Lenovo’s attitude in this information has become the biggest reason why many people have turned from fans of Lenovo to passers-by, and then from passers-by to haters.
Let me ask you a few questions first:
1. Do you think there are really companies in the world that would make such statements for years and anger consumers?
2. Do you think there are any companies in the world that can really profit from angering consumers?
3. Do you think there is really any company in the world whose purpose is not to pursue profits but to cause trouble to consumers?
The answer is clear, no.
You won't find any person or organization in your life that is dedicated to doing such stupid things and saying such stupid things. Even if you set up such a nonsensical villain company dedicated to angering consumers in the worst movie, the screenwriter will be scolded until retirement.
Lenovo certainly won't do that. All the information about "recalling overseas but not in China, and using nationalism as an excuse" is fake. Fortunately, the Internet has a memory. If you search the news at that time, you will find no reports on discrimination against Chinese consumers or the nonsensical "Lenovo theory".
If you search for "flying wire issue recall", you will find that on a certain day in 2018, there was a concentrated appearance of "Lenovo flying wire issue global recall, excluding China, Lenovo declares: Chinese people should support national enterprises."

In the news in 2006, we could only read "Lenovo said that it is normal for ThinkPad to have flying wires and the product will not be recalled."
The entire piece of information is more or less the same. It contains controversial issues in real history (there is no quality problem with the flying wire door, and there is no reliable information about the broken axle door), distorted real issues (the warrior propaganda in Taiwan has dealt with the relevant personnel, and Lenovo even supports the pre-installation of domestic operating systems), coupled with fabricated remarks that Lenovo discriminates against Chinese consumers or forcibly bundles nationalism, and is released in a saturated manner across the entire network, repeated over and over again, and a brand new history has replaced the real history.
The following three are real Lenovo recalls in recent times. Although the media has never reported Lenovo's battery door and Lenovo's screw door, we will handle the hidden dangers normally and recall them simultaneously around the world. This is the obligation of manufacturers and has nothing to do with national justice.
In April 2015, Lenovo recalled lithium-ion batteries in some ThinkPad laptops produced between October 2010 and June 2012 in mainland China, involving 89,653 laptops.
In February 2018, Lenovo announced a global recall of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2017. The recall involved X1 Carbon 2017 produced between December 2016 and October 2017, with a total of 68,492 units in the Chinese mainland market.
In July 2018, Lenovo filed a recall plan for laptop batteries with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Management Measures for the Recall of Defective Consumer Products", involving 153,219 units in mainland China.
Lenovo's negative image became the truth. Emotions overcame thinking, and people began to suspect their neighbors of stealing their axes. All problems were magnified. The configuration of a certain Chinese product was different, which was discrimination. Losses in overseas markets were turned into Lenovo's initiative to use its profits in China to subsidize overseas markets. Even not exploiting employees by working 996 hours a day was considered a mistake...
However, positive information, such as the fact that the IdeaPad/Xiaoxin priced at 5K-6K has the best price-performance ratio in the world in China, and there are basically no independent graphics cards overseas; Xiaoxin 14 all has TN screens outside of China, and only China has FHD IPS screens; the fastest supercomputers in 7 or 8 European countries are manufactured by Lenovo; Lenovo uses AR technology to support the production of large aircraft in Shanghai; Lenovo's last fiscal quarter was the most profitable quarter since its establishment; Lenovo's PCs in all regions around the world are now profitable, and MOTO is no longer losing money, etc., were all ignored.

Too much information often induces people to give up thinking. Nearly a hundred TV stations cannot stop Taiwanese compatriots from thinking that people in mainland China cannot afford to eat tea-flavored eggs; the Internet company with the highest market value cannot stop Americans from having various prejudices against China.
In this era where professional account-making companies and water army companies are constantly creating fragmented information, thinking is the most valuable skill for young people.
Lenovo, like most companies in the world, has products with quality problems, but also has popular models with great value for money. It adopts aggressive marketing strategies when entering new markets, and increases profits when it has a huge advantage in a market. It has avoided the important issues, solved problems secretly, taken responsibility seriously, and apologized publicly. But it has never discriminated against Chinese consumers.
Keep thinking, and you will never get old.
