In recent years, serious accidents caused by drunk driving at home and abroad have become more and more serious. In addition to strict law enforcement, the promotion of new technologies to prevent drunk driving is also a powerful means to reduce and eliminate drunk driving.
Alcohol lock
The alcohol lock is a vehicle-mounted detection device. The driver exhales into the alcohol detector equipped with the alcohol lock. After the instrument tests and determines that the driver has not drunk alcohol, the alcohol lock will be opened, otherwise the car cannot be started. Countries such as Sweden and Belgium stipulate that drivers who have been punished for drunk driving many times are forced to install alcohol locks in their cars.
Alcohol detector
Italian scientists have developed a new type of car alcohol detector called "Angel". When the alcohol concentration in the driver's breath exceeds the standard, the detector will emit a buzzer warning. If the driver does not stop the car, the detector will automatically issue a command through the on-board computer, forcing the car to be unable to start or gradually stop. New Mexico, USA, has also developed a skin contact alcohol tester that can emit a light beam to the driver's pulse and analyze whether the alcohol content in the blood vessels under the driver's arm exceeds the standard through reflected light.
Anti-drunk driving mobile phone
Using methods similar to the Angel detector, mobile phone manufacturers in Japan and the United States have developed new mobile phones that can prevent drunk driving. This mobile phone is equipped with a small alcohol sensor that can connect the sensor to the data transmission system of the mobile phone. Once the driver drives under the influence of alcohol, the alcohol sensor in the mobile phone can very sensitively detect the alcohol content in the driver's exhaled breath. This mobile phone is mainly used to help bus and taxi companies determine whether the driver can drive safely.
Laser Detection
Experts from a laser company in St. Petersburg, Russia, invented a laser alcohol detector that can detect whether a driver has drunk alcohol from a distance, and is used to deal with drivers who do not cooperate with the police. The detector emits a special laser beam that can detect the air inside the car through the windshield. If the alcohol content in the air inside the car exceeds one part per million, the instrument will alarm based on the feedback signal.
