Yingtang Intelligent Control (SZ300131) recently announced new progress in its chip project. Its automotive DDIC (display driver chip) products have successfully achieved batch order delivery, marking the company's successful entry into the automotive display market and becoming the first domestic manufacturer to achieve mass production of automotive DDIC.
The new energy vehicle market is booming, and intelligent driving is upgrading. The in-vehicle display market has also ushered in new development opportunities. Currently, Novatek Technology, Himax Technologies, etc. occupy the main market share in the in-vehicle display chip market. The batch order delivery of DDIC this time shows that Inton Intelligent Control has entered the ranks of mass suppliers of in-vehicle display chips.
The batch delivery of in-vehicle display products accelerates the expansion of the in-vehicle display chip market
With the accelerated development of automobile intelligence and networking, the importance of in-vehicle display systems as an important interface for human-computer interaction has become increasingly prominent. In the field of in-vehicle display, in-vehicle DDIC and TDDI are the core links of the industry chain: DDIC, as a car screen display driver chip, can be mainly used in non-touch display screens such as instrument panels, HUDs, and rearview mirrors; TDDI, as a driver chip with integrated display + touch functions, can be mainly used in various entertainment screens with touch functions such as central control screens, co-pilot and rear seats.
In the midst of a transformation, Intang Intelligent Control has long set its sights on the field of automotive display chips. In April and August 2023, Intang Intelligent Control successively launched licensing cooperation with upstream manufacturer Synaptics of the United States on automotive DDIC and TDDI, and obtained exclusive manufacturing, supply chain and sales authorization for the above two products. The company then built its own supply chain system to manufacture and sell related chip products.
At present, Intang Intelligent Control's DDIC has entered the batch order delivery stage. The company's automotive DDIC integrates display IP and has various functions, including color enhancement (CE), local automatic contrast optimization (LACO), sunlight readability enhancement (SRE), 6-axis tone control and independent white point adjustment, so that OEMs and their first-tier suppliers can customize the screen to achieve product differentiation.
On this basis, Intang Intelligent Control is also stepping up the research and development of the second-generation vehicle-mounted DDIC products to further optimize product application specifications and competitive performance. In line with the localization process, the company will complete the serialization of vehicle-mounted DDIC products, diversification of market applications, and flexible diversification of manufacturing and supply chains, laying the foundation for the company to occupy a place in the field of domestic substitution in the field of vehicle-mounted displays.
It is understood that Intaglio's TDDI products are also expected to be delivered within the year. With the gradual mass delivery of DDIC and TDDI, Intaglio's expansion and market share increase in the automotive display chip market will be further promoted.
The first to achieve mass production of automotive-grade DDIC, accelerating the transformation of chip design and manufacturing
China is the world's largest consumer market for display products, but in the field of automotive DDIC, the domestic industry chain is still in its infancy. Omdia data shows that screen carriers such as smartphones, tablets, and automotive displays are still the main source of downstream demand for DDIC. Driven by the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry, automotive DDIC has become a new growth pole for the display chip industry.
At present, the main display driver chip manufacturers in China include Tiandeyu, Chiptronix, Eswin, etc. Among them, Tiandeyu's TDDI products are mainly supplied to mobile phones and tablets; Chiptronix's display driver chip products are mainly used in smart phones, TVs, laptops, etc.; Eswin's products are aimed at TVs, laptops, automobiles and other fields. According to insiders, its TDDI for the automotive field is still in the testing stage. With the delivery of batch orders for DDIC, Intang Intelligent Control has become the first manufacturer in China to realize mass production of automotive DDIC.
In addition, panel manufacturers represented by BOE, CSOT, and Shenzhen Tianma are constantly strengthening their voice in the LCD and OLED fields. From the perspective of supply chain security, domestic panel manufacturers are also willing to help local DDIC companies grow. Facing the new blue ocean market of automotive DDIC, Intang Intelligent Control is expected to quickly seize market share.
It is understood that in addition to DDIC and TDDI, Intang Intelligent Control will also vigorously develop related products in the field of automotive display in the future, and realize the full coverage of the design and manufacturing of driver chip products in the automotive LCD screen display and touch application scenarios. On the basis of achieving the mass production goal, the company's R&D team will continue to conduct in-depth research, continue to innovate, pay close attention to market trends and customer needs, and combine the development direction of automotive display technology to develop new products that better meet market demand. Through the implementation of this strategy, the company hopes to achieve a significant market position in the field of automotive DDIC and TDDI, laying a solid foundation for the company's long-term development.
Transforming into a semiconductor IDM company integrating R&D, manufacturing, packaging and testing, and sales has been the long-term strategic direction of Innovent Technologies. The batch order delivery of DDIC has also become an important milestone for the company's transformation into a chip design and manufacturing manufacturer, accelerating the company's pace in the direction of chip design and manufacturing.
