April 25, 2024 is the first day of the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. On this day, all car companies showed off their best products, and they did not hesitate to release new cars and new technologies that they were reluctant to release, which made enthusiasts and prospective car owners very excited.

BYD, the leader in new energy, also released a new suspension technology, Yunnian-Z, which BYD called "a revolutionary new technology that will be applied in the future", and will continue to expand BYD's advantages in the field of intelligent body motion control systems.

We have talked about Yunniang before. Its appearance broke the monopoly of foreign companies on body control technology, symbolizing that BYD's technological accumulation has reached a very high level. Yunniang technology brings upgraded safety capabilities to the whole vehicle. Its appearance is of great significance and fills the technological gap for China's new energy vehicles. What kind of upgrades does the Yunniang-Z released this time, born on the shoulders of giants, have?

BYD explained that the revolutionary nature of the Yunnian-Z is that it is based on the concept of complete electrification and uses a highly integrated suspension motor to achieve a revolutionary breakthrough in the speed and precision of Z-axis adjustment, which will give users an unprecedented ultra-stable and ultra-safe experience. It will mark BYD as the only car company in the world that has not only achieved vertical electrification of control, but also the only car company in the world that has achieved full electrification of horizontal, vertical and three-dimensional control.

In the on-site demonstration video, no matter how the road surface changes, Yunnian-Z keeps the vehicle body as stable as a rock. Based on the super active control capability of Yunnian-Z technology, the riding experience is like riding on a maglev train, and wherever you go, it is as if you are walking on flat ground.

Specifically, Yunnian-Z has two unprecedented features. The first is the super-fast adjustment speed. The adjustment response speed of Yunnian-Z is as fast as 10 milliseconds. In the blink of an eye, it can adjust nearly 50 times. This adjustment speed is dozens of times that of traditional active suspension, just like the speed difference between a computer and an abacus. The second point is energy recovery. Because the suspension motor is used to do work directly and the oil is removed as a medium, the energy transfer loss of the Yunnian-Z system is smaller. Not only that, we can also directly generate electricity through the suspension motor to achieve energy recovery and charge the battery.

It has been confirmed that this technology will be first installed on the Yangwang U7 ( parameters | inquiry ) which will be officially launched in the second half of this year , bringing an unprecedented comfortable experience to the million-class flagship sedan, which is very worth looking forward to.
