New energy vehicles are powerful, and one of the important chips behind them is the battery management chip.
Battery management chips are mainly divided into five categories: battery protection chips, battery metering chips, charging management chips, battery sampling chips ( AFE ), and battery balancing chips.
As the core chip of the battery management system , the AFE chip provides an important basis for the battery management system to make decisions. The AFE chip is mainly responsible for real-time collection of accurate information such as battery cell voltage, current , temperature, etc., and feeds this information back to the main controller for processing and judgment.
In terms of market share, Texas Instruments (TI), Analog Devices ( ADI ), Maxim, and other European and American companies are undoubtedly the giants in the AFE chip market. In 2022, the top two American companies alone took 60% of the global market share. Chinese manufacturers are growing rapidly, but there is still a long way to go to break the monopoly of international manufacturers.
