Since 2023, many car companies have announced accelerating the deployment of solid-state batteries. It is expected that semi-solid-state battery-powered cars will mainly focus on 2024-2025. For anode materials such as metallic lithium that require higher energy density batteries and cathode materials that require higher voltage resistance, ordinary liquid electrolytes are difficult to be compatible, so the prospects for semi-solid batteries/quasi-solid batteries are broader in the short term.

  

In the long term, in order to further increase energy density, solid electrolytes need to be used to completely replace liquid electrolytes. The industrial development route of solid-state batteries is to transition from liquid electrolyte batteries to solid-liquid mixed electrolytes, and finally to all-solid electrolytes. At present, for high-energy systems, including large energy storage, large cylinders, high voltage, etc., while the energy density increases, the wettability becomes worse, resulting in many interface problems. Based on this demand, Kunlun New Materials Technology Team has developed a new additive Kun-ROClyte-N508. This product has greatly improved high and low temperature performance and cycle performance.

  

In addition to the new additive Kun-ROClyte-N508, this series of products also includes: "Kun-ROClyte-N507", a new solvent with excellent high-voltage resistance in sodium-ion battery electrolytes. Compared with conventional carbonate solvents, battery products using this solvent have better performance in charge and discharge rates, high and low temperature adaptability, cycle life and other aspects.

  

In terms of fast-charging electrolyte, Kunlun's R&D team proposed a composite lithium-ion electrolyte solution based on LiFSi and supplemented by the new additive "Kun-ROClyte-N863". Compared with other conventional electrolyte products, this solution has the advantages of high conductivity and lower viscosity. At the same time, it has superior high-temperature performance and can well adapt to the problem of battery temperature increase caused by high-rate charging.

  

In order to improve the safety of lithium batteries, Kunlun New Materials has also developed a new lithium battery thermal runaway solution - "Kun-ROClyte-GEL-A+B". This product adopts a two-injection method and uses process improvements to help battery products achieve the balance of "high energy density, high battery safety and excellent electrochemical performance".
