In order to highlight the value for money of vehicles, many vehicles are equipped with high-end intelligent assisted driving systems. Even if there are some functions that cannot be officially enabled at present, car companies must prepare the hardware such as lidar and high-computing power chips, and then enable them through later OTA upgrades. Before 2023, NOA will be mainly used in high-speed scenarios, also called high-speed pilot assistance. It can realize active lane changes, automatic on- and off-ramps, traffic jam processing, automatic speed adjustment and other auxiliary driving functions, which can greatly reduce the driver's fatigue when driving at high speeds. feel.

However, at present, some new forces have achieved high availability of NOA in high-speed scenarios, so various car companies have unanimously expanded the use scenarios of NOA to cities. Compared with high-speed scenarios, urban road conditions are more complex, with many intersections, complex lanes, non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians, so the requirements for NOA have also become higher.
Xpeng is the first domestic car company to launch urban NOA. In October 2022, Xpeng P5 ( parameter | inquiry ) already supported urban navigation assistance in Guangzhou, but at that time it only developed urban main roads and required high-level Fine map support. On March 31 this year, Xiaopeng launched the latest Xmart OS 4.2.0 version, opening the first phase of XNGP capabilities for the G9 and P7i Max versions, and supporting urban NGP in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou.
Wenjie, which is backed by Huawei, released the M5 series high-end smart driving version during this year's Shanghai Auto Show, and was first equipped with the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 system. According to the official plan, urban NCA will be opened in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Hangzhou in the second quarter of this year, and commercial assisted driving without pictures will be implemented in 15 and 45 cities across the country in the third and fourth quarters respectively. Avita, which also uses Huawei's HI smart driving solution, has officially opened urban NCA user test driving experiences in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Chongqing starting in March.
Some market participants pointed out that the intelligent driving industry follows the development path of "spiral rise and wave advancement". In 2023, Tesla's FSD turning point will appear, urban NOA will be accelerated, and policies and regulations will gradually improve. The intelligent driving industry is gradually ushering in technology, regulations , the triple inflection point of user acceptance.
