In fact, since Geely's Xingji Times took control of Meizu Technology last year, Meizu's business transformation has been imminent. Previously, Meizu has posted multiple car-related job recruitments on its recruitment website, including positions such as mechanical structural engineer and chassis electronic control engineer, advanced intelligent cockpit test engineer, and new energy vehicle sales consultant. Based on this, many people in the industry speculate that this is a sign that Meizu will end its car manufacturing.

In this regard, Meizu Technology stated that the company is indeed reserving talents related to the automotive field. However, Yang Xueliang, senior vice president of Geely Automobile, denied that Meizu was building cars. He said: "This is a misunderstanding. Meizu does not build cars, but only provides services for car companies." It is not difficult to see that Yang Xueliang's explanation is consistent with Huawei's view on building cars. The attitude is consistent, which may mean that Meizu will follow Huawei's car-making model and become the second Huawei.

However, since Meizu is backed by Geely, it obviously needs to serve its future planning. You must know that more and more car companies are joining the mobile phone industry, and what they value is the creation of an ecological chain. Geely Li Shufu once expressed his views on manufacturing mobile phones: in order to create an ecosystem, integrate vehicles and machines, enhance software capabilities, and at the same time, make smart cars more competitive.

Shen Ziyu, vice chairman of Xingji Times and chairman of Meizu Technology, also revealed, “In the future, the products of both Xingji Times and Meizu brands will revolve around the Flyme operating system, empowering the experience on mobile phones to smart cars, including empowering to other terminals to achieve the goal of integrated experience across multiple terminals and all scenarios.”

Nowadays, Meizu is promoting automobile-related business. In August 2022, Meizu announced the patent for "vehicle person-finding method and system, vehicle terminal, vehicle and server".

In November of the same year, FlymeAuto, the in-car system built by Meizu, was officially released. This in-car system is based on the design concept of Alive Design. The core functions of Meizu’s Flyme mobile phone system, such as Smart Bar, small window mode, etc., are all in the Flyme Auto system. be continued. On January 10 this year, Meizu’s patent application for “Driver Sitting Posture Detection Method, Device, Equipment and Storage Medium” was published.
