In Li Yifan's view, all innovative companies related to manufacturing actually have no opportunity to directly outsource production, because outsourcing naturally makes it impossible to iterate products and can even hinder innovation. Only companies with their own manufacturing capabilities can generate relatively sustained opportunities for development in future market competition.
Because of this, Hesai has been promoting the construction of the Maxwell Intelligent Manufacturing Center in the past two years. The factory has an investment of nearly US$200 million, a production automation rate of over 90%, and a planned annual production capacity of 1.2 million units. It is expected to be fully operational in the first half of 2023.
In addition, Hesai is also actively leading the formulation of industry standards to promote the standardization and standardized development of vehicle-mounted lidar, provide an important reference benchmark for future pre-installation mass production cooperation between OEMs and lidar manufacturers, and promote the development of vehicle-mounted laser radar. The radar industry is developing truly healthily and sustainably.

At present, Hesai's continuously increasing fixed-point mass production scale and industry influence fully prove that the previous "fighting against all opinions" is worthwhile.
In the past September, Hesai has successfully achieved a monthly delivery volume of more than 10,000 units, becoming the first automotive lidar company in the world to deliver more than 10,000 units per month. Next, according to Li Yifan, the delivery volume of AT128 in October will also exceed 10,000 units, and will continue to maintain significant growth thereafter, leading local lidar companies to a new stage of development.
