On June 27, Guoxuan High-tech (002074) held the 5th New Energy Economy Forum and the opening ceremony of Guoxuan Germany at its Göttingen factory in Germany.
It is reported that the Gottingen base, as Guoxuan's first battery production and operation base in Europe, is expected to start transformation at the end of this year. Li Zhen, chairman of Guoxuan High-tech, said that Guoxuan perfectly combines China's advanced battery technology with Germany's advanced process engineering, officially starting the "Made in Europe" step of Guoxuan batteries.

The Göttingen site covers an area of about 174,000 square meters, with an existing building area of about 40,000 square meters. According to the plan, the project will be built in two phases: a brownfield plant and a greenfield plant, with annual production targets of 6GWh and 12GWh respectively. The first phase of brownfield plant renovation is expected to be officially launched at the end of 2022, and the first production line of 3.5GWh will be officially put into production in September 2023.
According to the plan, the base will develop new energy battery products that are in line with European standards, and start production of a series of products including bus batteries, car batteries, energy storage batteries, and mobile charging . Future customers are expected to cover the fields of energy storage, commercial vehicles , and passenger vehicles .
In addition, at the opening ceremony, Guoxuan High-tech also launched its first portable energy storage product brand GenDome for the overseas market, as well as its first portable mobile energy storage product Gendock 3000.
According to reports, Gendock 3000 can convert solar and wind energy into electricity; it can help customers manage home energy use, meet daily home and outdoor use needs, meet 99% of customers' electricity needs, and effectively reduce energy payment bills. This home energy storage product has three different models, developed and manufactured by Guoxuan High-tech's international business team. In the future, it will mainly target the European market, and later the product will be locally manufactured at the Göttingen base.
Weico.com Lithium Battery noted that Guoxuan High-tech pointed out in its announcement in March that "the company plans to increase the construction of power battery production capacity and supporting industries in overseas markets such as Europe, North America, and Asia, build a new generation of first-class power battery production lines, and quickly realize overseas market layout."
It now appears that Guoxuan High-tech has taken the first step into "Europe" and will disclose more investment and factory construction plans in the future.
Li Chen, president of international business of Guoxuan High-tech, said that since May 2022, Guoxuan has successively released the first self-developed Yijiadian smart mobile energy storage charging pile product for ordinary consumers and the Gendome portable energy storage product for overseas markets. In 2025, Guoxuan High-tech's global production capacity plan will reach 300GWh, of which 100GWh is planned for overseas production capacity.
Large-scale capacity expansion requires abundant resources to support it. On June 24, Guoxuan High-tech (USA) Co., Ltd. and Jujuy State Energy and Mining Company (hereinafter referred to as JEMSE) signed a cooperation agreement in Argentina. The two parties decided to jointly establish Guoxuan Jujuy Mining Co., Ltd. to carry out research and development and production of lithium carbonate and other related products. The initial plan is to build a production line with an annual output of 10,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate. In the later stage, it is planned to plan and build a second-phase 50,000-ton battery-grade lithium carbonate production line according to market demand, further promoting the implementation of the company's supply chain globalization strategy.
So far, Guoxuan High-tech has initially formed five major material bases, located in Lujiang, Anhui, Feidong, Anhui, Yichun, Jiangxi, Wuhai, Inner Mongolia and Jujuy Province, Argentina. And the layout of raw materials is becoming more and more complete, currently covering most of the raw materials for lithium battery production, such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, precursors, ternary materials, LFP materials, lithium titanate, positive electrodes, negative electrodes, copper foils, diaphragms, electrolytes, additives, etc.
