The second-generation intelligent variable-focus LiDAR has a variable refresh frame rate of 10-30Hz (the mainstream first-generation is fixed at 10Hz), and has a response speed three times faster than the first generation, which can achieve millisecond-level strain.


In the left-turn scenario in the urban area, the refresh frame rate can be increased from 10Hz to 20Hz (or higher). If the oncoming vehicle speed is 30km/h (then the differential speed is 60km/h), the displacement of the two vehicles in adjacent frames is about 2m at a 10Hz frame rate, while it is about 1m at a 20Hz frame rate. This means that intelligent driving vehicles can more accurately judge the gaps for safe left turns, reduce unnecessary waiting on the spot, safely complete left turns, and improve the intelligent driving experience.


Based on this set of excellent hardware and powerful algorithms, AION LX Plus becomes GAC Aion's first model equipped with urban NDA, which can realize straight driving at traffic lights, autonomous lane change and overtaking, left and right turns at traffic lights, U-turns and roundabouts, etc.; it can identify vehicle changes earlier, and increase the recognition sensitivity of vehicles, passing two-wheeled vehicles, pedestrians, etc. by 3 times, effectively preventing queues and avoiding scratches; it can continuously evolve its adaptability through vehicle OTA.


In addition, the dual-monitoring high-speed NDA, which is unique in its class, can realize autonomous acceleration, deceleration and lane change, and actively avoid vehicles; it can actively select the optimal lane on the main road of the highway based on navigation information and combined with high-precision map data; it can independently select the optimal auxiliary route in combination with the navigation route; it can obtain static information of the road 3km ahead at an ultra-long distance, and identify dynamic information of the road ahead 500m in advance, realizing automatic acceleration and automatic lane change; when encountering a large truck ahead, it will automatically accelerate to overtake the truck in the adjacent lane, and at the same time understand smart courtesy and actively maintain a safe distance of more than 30cm; when the vehicle is about to leave or enter a ramp, the intelligent system will actively/recommend on/off ramps, and intelligently accelerate and decelerate to change lanes when merging into the main road, with a success rate of more than 80%, and a minimum ramp passing radius of 100m.
