Introduction: Forsee Power has launched a new series of ultra-thin lithium batteries with a width of only 128 mm for electric vehicles and light electric vehicles in the construction and agricultural sectors .
Forsee Power is a French company specializing in the development and production of electric vehicle battery systems. Earlier this year, the company announced the launch of a new generation of ultra-thin battery modules. The Slim series has a battery capacity ranging from 5 to 21 kWh, a voltage range of 50V to 120V, and a charging current of 106A.
Currently, the new Zen 8 Slim series of 128 mm thin batteries use NMC lithium-ion cells , composed of modules and equipped with an integrated battery management system, designed to enable electrification of vehicles with very limited space without changing the space for drivers and passengers.
"The biggest challenge in electrifying off-highway vehicles in sectors such as construction, agriculture and industry is integrating the battery into a vehicle that can accommodate the thermal powertrain," Forsee said in a statement. "The available space is often limited, which is where particularly flat batteries should show their advantages."
According to Forsee Power, the new series offers a high degree of modularity and scalability, allowing 16 modules to be installed in series and 6 branches to be installed in parallel, achieving a wide range of combinations from 8 kWh and 48 volts to 760 kWh and 800 volts. In addition, the Zen 8 Slim battery is said to have an energy density of 251 Wh/L, a lifespan of up to 5,000 times, and is very rugged. Regarding charging performance, Forsee said that the battery can be fully charged in just one hour.
In 2019, Forsee Power began supplying batteries to the Chinese electric light vehicle brand Niu Electric. The lithium battery deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2019 and will continue until 2022, totaling more than 100,000 units.
