According to foreign media reports, TDK has developed a new HPL505032F1 power inductor for automotive circuits. By providing high current and low inductance for power circuits in central processing units and graphics processing units (such as ADAS), the inductor can support L5 ADAS applications for cameras. It has an operating temperature range of -55 °C to +155 °C (including self-heating) and will start mass production in July 2021.

The new product uses a high-permeability, low-loss ferrite low-resistance frame made of completely independently developed high BS materials and low RDC (DC resistance) to achieve high power efficiency. Its rated current is 1.5 times that of TDK's existing products (HPL505028) and can accommodate currents up to 40A to 50A. The flux cancellation effect produced by its proprietary structural design also helps with noise control. Not only that, the new product integrates internal and external electrodes to reduce the risk of open circuits and short circuits, thereby ensuring high reliability. TDK's ADAS system product line includes a series of automotive inductors suitable for these applications.
