Currently, CATL's NCM811 batteries account for more than 20% of CATL's total power battery shipments, and large-scale deliveries have been achieved in overseas markets.

The proportion of high-nickel batteries in CATL's product matrix is increasing rapidly.

Recently, Zeng Yuqun, chairman of CATL, responded to a questioner at the 2020 annual performance online briefing, saying that NCM811 batteries currently account for more than 20% of CATL's total power battery shipments, and large-scale deliveries have been achieved in overseas markets.

In addition, CATL's overseas revenue in 2020 was 7.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 295.3%, and the revenue share increased from 4% in 2019 to 16%. The main reason is that the sales of new energy vehicles in Europe have increased significantly, driving a significant increase in CATL's overseas sales of power batteries, mainly 811 system products.

The annual report shows that CATL achieved sales of 44.45GWh of power battery systems in 2020. Based on a 20% shipment share, this means that CATL's NCM811 battery shipments in 2020 reached at least 8.89 GWh.

At this year's Shanghai Auto Show, automakers including domestic brands, new car manufacturers, foreign/joint ventures, and traditional brands unveiled nearly 80 new energy vehicle models.

According to incomplete statistics, 43 mid-to-high-end new energy vehicle models have been equipped or are planned to be equipped with high-nickel batteries.

Judging from the battery suppliers of high-nickel battery models at this auto show, CATL has become the absolute main supplier, providing high-nickel batteries for the main models of OEMs such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Honda, Zeekr, Arcfox, ORA, NIO, Xpeng, Nezha, Leapmotor, Zhiji, FAW Hongqi, and SAIC Volkswagen.

With the high-nickel battery models launched by the above-mentioned automakers coming on the market this year and more models equipped with high-nickel batteries being launched in the later period, coupled with the further increase in sales of models equipped with CATL's high-nickel batteries in the early stage, CATL's high-nickel battery shipments and shipment share in 2021 will further increase.
