The truck brake temperature monitoring system jointly developed by Denso and Nittsu Shoji can detect abnormal temperature rise when the truck brakes and alarm the driver. The temperature change can detect brake abnormalities that are not easily found in daily inspections, contributing to ensuring driver safety, preventing logistics stagnation, and maintaining the normal operation of social infrastructure.
Trucks that transport goods play an important role in people's daily lives. On the other hand, when a truck catches fire on the road, it not only threatens people's lives, but also affects the operation of social infrastructure such as logistics and transportation. Therefore, responding to truck fires is a major social issue.
The truck brake temperature monitoring system developed this time was developed based on the problem of abnormal temperature rise during braking, which is a common cause of truck fires. The product installs temperature sensors on each wheel to monitor three abnormal temperature changes: abnormal high temperature, sudden temperature rise, and temperature difference with other tires, and alarms the driver when abnormalities are found. By monitoring the changes in brake temperature on a daily basis, abnormal phenomena can be detected at an early stage, and alarms can be issued to the driver before dangerous accidents such as fires occur.
In the future, Denso will actively promote the research and development of various technologies that can achieve safe and secure driving not only in the passenger car field, but also in the commercial vehicle field, and contribute to the safe and free mobility of people, from drivers to pedestrians.
Alarm to remind the driver
A warning indicator is set on the front end of the truck, and warnings are given through the car's rearview mirror.
