Electric Vehicle News: Starting from the 6th batch of new energy vehicle recommended catalogs, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has re-included models that met the new standards in the past. Only after these models are removed can the latest product layout of automakers be reflected. In the 10th batch of recommended catalogs, there are 222 new models announced, accounting for 86.05%; it can be seen that the proportion of new models announced in the 6th to 10th batches of catalogs has increased from 2.31% to 86.10%. This report only analyzes the announcements of new models.
The 10th batch of recommended catalogs in 2020 announced 33 new energy passenger vehicle products, including 31 pure electric models and 2 plug-in hybrid models; 9 A00-class sedan products were announced, which is a key market segment for automakers; Human Horizons announced 3 D-class SUVs - HiPhi X entered the catalog; there are still 7 A-class sedans, led by Sihao, Roewe, Chery, Dongfeng and BAIC.
At present, the pure electric driving range is mostly concentrated above 400km, including new cars such as Sihao E50A/E40X, WM EVOLVE, and HiPhi X; Chery eQ5's driving range is increased to 620km, the highest value in this batch of catalogs; Roewe Ei5 is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries and is positioned in the battery swap market.
The battery system energy density of 17 pure electric passenger vehicles equipped with ternary lithium-ion batteries is all above 140Wh/kg, of which models with an energy density of more than 160Wh/kg account for 58.82% of the announcement; the battery system energy density of the HiPhi X equipped with Jiangsu Times batteries reaches 180.83 Wh/kg, the highest value in this batch of catalogs.
BYD Tang EV is equipped with blade batteries, driving up the number of lithium iron phosphate batteries installed; 42.42% of the new energy passenger vehicles in the 10th batch of catalogs are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, with an energy density of 140Wh/kg, which is lower than the mainstream range of 160-180Wh/kg for ternary batteries.
In the 10th batch of catalogs, the models with the highest peak power of permanent magnet synchronous motors are HiPhi X and BYD Tang EV; HiPhi X is equipped with a drive motor produced by United Electronics, and BYD Tang EV is equipped with the same TZ200XSE drive motor as Han EV, with the peak power increased to 200kW.
In terms of vehicle power consumption, passenger car power consumption is mainly concentrated in the range of 13-16kWh/100km, accounting for 51.52%; Polestar's power consumption per 100 kilometers is as high as 25.2kWh/100km, which is also the model with the highest power consumption per 100 kilometers in the 1-10 batches of catalogs.
The energy density of the Chery eQ5 equipped with Huading Guolian batteries has been increased to 170.1 Wh/kg, and the cruising range has reached 620km; the energy density of the SKI-equipped Arcfox and SINOMACH Zhijun battery systems ranks among the top five; the BYD Tang EV is equipped with the same motor as the Han EV, and its peak power ranking ranks among the top five.
From the perspective of the entire vehicle, Human Horizons launched its first luxury SUV - HiPhi X, WM Motor's new mid-size SUV - WM EVOLVE entered the catalog, and Sihao E50A and E40X made their debuts; Founder Motor became the motor supplier with the largest number of announcements in the 10th batch of catalogs by supporting Wuling Hongguang MINI EV and Baojun E100.
As of the 10th batch of recommended catalogs, 18 Dynasty series models, including Han EV, Qin EV, and Yuan EV, have been equipped with blade batteries. From the perspective of market wholesale sales, the Dynasty series accounts for 81%. The replacement of blade batteries will further enhance the competitiveness of Dynasty models.
