ON Semiconductor, driving energy-efficient innovations, has won awards in two categories at the 2019 China Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation Awards hosted by elecfans.com, and was also recognized at the 2019 IoT Innovation Awards hosted by Electronic Products World (EEPW).
At the 2019 China IoT Innovation Awards, ON Semiconductor's Bluetooth IoT Development Kit (B-IDK) won the IoT Development Tools/Kits/Cloud Platform category award, and the RSL10 Sensor Development Kit won the Sensor Technology category award. At the same time, at the EEPW 2019 IoT Innovation Awards, the RSL10 Solar Cell Multi-Sensor Platform won the Low Power Sensor category award.
These China IoT Innovation Awards aim to discover and recognize leaders in the IoT industry who have made outstanding contributions and technologies to the market, have far-reaching impacts and help promote innovation and support the development of IoT solutions.
ON Semiconductor's B-IDK is a modular platform for developing and prototyping low-power Bluetooth applications for smart homes and buildings. It combines the RSL10 System-in-Package (RSL10 SIP), based on the industry's lowest power Bluetooth 5 radio, with a range of sensor and actuator modules for rapid development. Together with a companion mobile app, this provides an "out-of-the-box" solution that supports instant cloud connectivity. The kit is supported by a broad development environment, including sample software and FreeRTOS.
The RSL10 Sensor Development Kit combines cutting-edge smart sensor technology with the RSL10. The kit also includes the necessary firmware, software, mobile and cloud-related functions to support the development of worker safety and home automation applications with advanced sensor technology and longer battery life. This small form factor development platform provides 9 degrees of freedom (DoF) detection and environmental monitoring, including ambient light, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pressure, relative humidity and temperature. The RSL10 Solar Cell Multi-Sensor Platform is a complete low-cost solution for developing sensor nodes that are self-powered by harvested solar energy. The platform features multiple smart sensors and supports continuous low-power Bluetooth transmission without the need for any batteries.
Commenting on the awards, Wiren Perera, Director of IoT at ON Semiconductor, said: “Winning three categories in these industry media awards underscores our capabilities and commitment to an important and rapidly evolving industry. IoT will positively impact an extremely broad and diverse range of markets and applications, so solutions with devices, kits and tools such as ours that speed and simplify development will make a world of difference.”
