Today's car cockpits are evolving into intelligent digital mobile spaces with autonomous learning capabilities. As a global leader in automotive cockpit electronics, Visteon (NASDAQ: VC) will showcase a series of new autonomous driving and HMI user experience products at the Shanghai Auto Show, which opens on April 16, focusing on providing customers with high-security solutions in a fully digital environment.
Visteon is committed to improving driving safety while applying innovative technologies to enable seamless access to information in personal devices, vehicles and the cloud. At China's largest auto show, Visteon will fully demonstrate its leadership in the electronic cockpit, including fully digital instruments, advanced digital displays and scalable autonomous driving platform solutions.
"As vehicles become more automated, the human-machine interface in the cockpit requires innovative approaches to achieve safe and seamless transitions between driver control and vehicle automation while keeping passengers informed, engaged and enjoying the driving process," said Sachin Lawande, president and CEO of Visteon. "As a major digital cockpit technology supplier in China, Visteon has been working hard to bring comprehensive, flexible and scalable digital cockpit solutions that meet L3 autonomous driving and higher-level applications to the world's largest automotive market."
One of Visteon's highlights at the Shanghai Auto Show is the integrated cockpit experience. Visteon will showcase the industry's first integration between the SmartCore™ domain controller and the DriveCore™ autonomous driving domain controller. The integration of the two domain controllers, coupled with a seamless human-machine interface, greatly enhances the experience of drivers and passengers. The HMI interface brings a new future driving experience through seamless transitions between manual driving and autonomous driving modes. When the car takes over driving, it is important for the driver and passengers to understand and trust the vehicle's actions, while for the car itself, it is important to perceive the surrounding environment and confirm whether the driver is ready to take over control at any time.
Curved and irregular high-resolution digital displays are essential for the future all-digital cockpit. Visteon will bring a series of digital display products based on LCD and OLED technology to the Chinese market, including an impressive 12.3-inch automotive-grade 2D/3D display with precise eye tracking and 2D/3D mode switching. In addition, Visteon will also showcase its Visteon eXperience display, which was first exhibited at CES in Las Vegas in January this year, which integrates technologies such as tactile feedback, proximity sensing and handwriting recognition.
During the Shanghai Auto Show, Visteon will also cooperate with Tongji University, a famous Chinese university, to announce a strategic cooperation in the field of autonomous driving. The 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition is expected to attract more than 1 million visitors.
