All visitors attending Embedded World 2020 can discuss new technology trends on-site with GigaDevice's international team of experts, explore GD32's rich product portfolio and solution demonstrations, and experience the world's first 32-bit general-purpose MCU product based on the RISC-V core.
The world's first RISC-V MCU
GigaDevice is a silver member of the RISC-V Foundation, and a member of the China Open Instruction Ecosystem (RISC-V) Alliance and the China RISC-V Industry Alliance. The GD32 MCU uses an optimized RISC-V commercial core to provide a series of world-leading products, helping users easily realize their extraordinary creativity by providing high-performance, easy-to-use and cost-effective innovative MCUs and a readily available development ecosystem.
GigaDevice RISC-V seminar was packed during the exhibition
The RISC-V open source instruction set architecture has become a hot topic in the industry, and the GD32VF103 series RISC-V core MCU is a brand new MCU product with milestone significance for the market. The evaluation given by the Embedded World jury is that the GD32 MCU family is the first in the world to use the RISC-V core to launch a new member of the commercial 32-bit general-purpose MCU, which is completely different from the soft-core solution implemented on FPGA, but is similar to the general-purpose MCU based on the Arm core, and all of them have been mass-produced and supplied.
Embedded Award 2020
The GD32VF103 series RISC-V core MCU can meet emerging market demands, such as the demand for open source architecture and the demand for differentiated and fragmented application scenarios in the IoT market. The GD32VF103 series MCU can provide users with intelligent and innovative solutions in industrial control, consumer electronics, emerging IoT, edge computing, artificial intelligence and a range of vertical market applications.
Mr. Michael Haidar, Vice President of Overseas Sales of GigaDevice, accepts the Embedded Award 2020 certificate
The products that competed for the 2020 Hardware Award and were nominated include GigaDevice GD32VF103 series RISC-V core MCU, France ITEN SA's micro battery ITX121050B, and STMicroelectronics' STM32WL. The jury of eight internationally renowned experts and scholars from Embedded World expressed great recognition for the global leadership and wide popularity of GD32 RISC-V core MCU, and awarded the GD32VF103 series MCU the only Best Hardware Product Award of the Year in 2020, which strongly illustrates the importance of this product in the MCU field to the future of the embedded world. The award was presented by Thomas Preutenborbeck, Vice President and Professor of Nuremberg Messer Messe, and Dr. Axel Sikora of Offenburg University served as the Chairman of the Jury and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Embedded World.
Embedded Award 2020
Embedded World 2020 is the world's largest embedded electronics and industrial computer application exhibition, as well as the world's largest embedded system exhibition. It is a barometer of the development of the embedded professional economy and the industrial development trend of the European Union. As an annual event in the embedded industrial field, it brings together the world's top software and hardware manufacturers. The exhibition is divided into four major exhibition themes: hardware, tools, application software and services, and each theme will produce a final winner. The exhibition covers many fields such as Industry 4.0, automation, motion control, human-machine interface, Internet of Things, cloud computing, medical electronics, smart home, motor control, smart metering, industrial communications, etc., providing a platform for displaying and communicating the world's most cutting-edge technologies and trends in the fields of semiconductors, embedded boards, industrial computers, intelligent systems in various industries, and Internet of Things solutions.
