Thickness gauge is an instrument used to measure the thickness of materials and objects. In industrial production, it is often used to continuously or sample the thickness of products (such as steel plates, steel strips, films, paper, metal foils, etc.).
Measurement Notes:
⒈ When conducting the test, it should be noted that the metal magnetism and surface roughness of the standard piece should be similar to those of the test piece.
⒉ During measurement, the side head should be kept perpendicular to the sample surface.
⒊ When measuring, pay attention to the critical thickness of the base metal. If the thickness is greater than this, the measurement will not be affected by the thickness of the base metal.
⒋ When measuring, pay attention to the influence of the curvature of the specimen on the measurement. Therefore, it is unreliable to measure on the curved surface of the specimen.
⒌ Before measuring, please pay attention to whether other electrical equipment around will generate magnetic fields, if so, it will interfere with the magnetic thickness measurement method.
⒍When measuring, be careful not to measure at the inner corners or near the edge of the specimen, because general thickness gauges are very sensitive to sudden changes in the surface shape of the specimen.
⒎Keep the pressure constant during measurement, otherwise it will affect the measurement readings.
⒏ When testing, please note that the instrument probe and the test piece should be in direct contact. Therefore, the ultrasonic thickness gauge should remove the attached materials on the opposite side head when testing.
