  1. Connect the oscilloscope probe to the device under test (DUT).

  2. Press Default Settings.

  3. Turn on all channels that have input signals.

  4. Adjust the vertical scale and position to display the waveforms of all channels simultaneously.

  5. Press the trigger level button to set the trigger level to 50% of the signal.

  6. Adjust the horizontal time base so that several cycles of waveform can be displayed on the screen.

Vertical controls

Scale (large knob):
adjusts the waveform height in volts/division. Position (small knob):
adjusts the upper and lower positions of the waveform.
Multiplex knob:
selects the channel for control and triggering.

Trigger Control

Define a trigger event to display the waveform synchronously.
Source: Select the trigger channel.
Slope: Select whether to trigger on the rising edge or the falling edge.
Level (knob): Set the trigger voltage of the waveform

Automatic mode: Acquires waveforms regardless of whether there are waveforms that meet the trigger event.

Standard mode: Only waveforms that meet the trigger event are acquired.

Save/Recall

Save or recall setups, waveforms, and bitmap images to a USB storage device.

Measurement

Cursors: Manually control cursors for voltage or time measurements.

Automatic Measurements: Perform automatic measurements such as peak-to-peak voltage, rise time, pulse width, etc.

Horizontal controls

Scale (large knob): Adjusts the waveform width in seconds per division.

Position (small knob): Adjust the left and right position of the waveform.

Zoom: Enlarge the displayed waveform.

Run Control

Run: continuously collect waveforms.

Stop: Display the last acquired waveform.

Single: Capture the waveform that meets the trigger condition only once.

Default Settings: Restore the oscilloscope to default settings.

(Tip: Reset settings before starting a new measurement.)

Auto-scaling: Automatically sets vertical scale, horizontal time base and trigger.

Keysight 2000 and 3000 X-Series oscilloscopes are the perfect tools for teaching labs, with space-saving designs and options such as digital channels, function generation, and AWG. In addition, the 3000T is available in a touchscreen configuration, so students can quickly master the operation of the oscilloscope just like using a popular tablet. The oscilloscope also provides a remote interface for learners who are far away, and there are hidden commands for disabling the oscilloscope's auto-scaling function.

These oscilloscopes come with the X-Series Education Kit (Option EDK), which includes 11 built-in training signals and hands-on labs to help students become truly proficient in the use of modern oscilloscopes .
