To accurately measure oxygen in bags and other sealed containers, Ocean Optics, a leader in microphotonics, has introduced the RedEye? oxygen sensor. Combining its patented sensing material and optical sensing technology, the non-immersible oxygen sensor can quickly determine the presence of oxygen and can quantitatively measure it.
Accurately measuring oxygen concentration is important for medical and pharmaceutical applications. It can ensure the safety of patients during nursing analysis and ventilator devices, or indicate whether surgical instruments and drug packaging are sterile and sealed. The
self-adhesive RedEye oxygen sensor can be attached to the surface of sample containers, such as blood bags, tablet packaging, or nursing analysis equipment, such as disposable ventilator oxygen accessories, to non-invasively measure the oxygen concentration in the package. Ocean Optics' patented nanoporous gel coating has good anti-reactive ability, which can keep the sensor properties stable and protect the sensor. Depending on the application, the presence of oxygen can be observed by the color change of a handheld LED, or the precise oxygen content can be directly measured using a fluorescence photometer. RedEye oxygen sensors can not only measure low oxygen levels in gases (as low as 0.005%) and dissolved oxygen in liquids (20ppb), but also high oxygen levels such as in cell tissues and respiratory monitoring. In addition to these medical and pharmaceutical applications, the coating technology of RedEye oxygen sensors is also suitable for use in food, beverages, fuels and other hydrocarbon products.
Depending on the measurement needs, Ocean Optics can tailor sensors to the customer's personalized specifications using three different coating methods. RedEye oxygen sensors can be integrated into packaging for continuous monitoring, or used on the surface of packaging for post-production or R&D monitoring. (end)
