The main sources of V-cone flowmeter measurement errors are improper installation, untimely maintenance or changes in process system operating parameters. Today, I will summarize the faulty operation of the V-cone flowmeter.

1. The first is improper installation .

The main reasons for the improper on-site installation of the V-cone flowmeter may be the following: insufficient straight pipe sections before and after the process pipeline, resulting in fluid instability and affecting the measurement accuracy; there is a problem with the installation direction. Of course, this problem basically does not occur unless it is caused by an error in on-site installation; when measuring steam, the condensing device is not completely cooled down, and the installation height is not equal

. 2. The second is the misoperation of the secondary instrument.

When the V-cone flowmeter is used on-site, it must be equipped with a differential pressure transmitter to be used normally. Therefore, the performance of the differential pressure transmitter and the correctness of the installation directly affect the overall accuracy of the V-cone flowmeter. The V-cone flowmeter has successful operation experience in measuring mixed fluids, but attention should be paid to the corrosion protection of the differential pressure transmitter and the drain valve should be opened regularly.

When measuring viscous and crystallizable media, the pressure pipe and stop valve are often blocked due to heat tracing and other reasons, causing the differential pressure value input to the differential pressure transmitter to change, resulting in measurement errors. The solution is to conduct regular inspections, perform sewage cleaning or use a hand pump to dredge.

When measuring high-pressure or corrosive media, pressure pipes or joints often leak, causing pressure loss and differential pressure deviation. The solution is to conduct regular inspections and plug the leaks.
