The new TEKEXP SFP-TX option for DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series oscilloscopes helps users easily select measurements for SFF-8431 SFP+ testing and provides the ability to perform all measurements with one click. Automation options help engineers efficiently meet compliance requirements and generate detailed reports. In addition, users can change test limits for advanced margin and performance testing. The new SFP-TX option for the popular DPOJET jitter analysis software greatly simplifies the SFF-8431 SFP+ testing task. All masks, limits, and measurement parameters are automatically configured, and a new user interface based on measurement standards is provided to flexibly change the selected measurements and measurement configurations.
"The dramatic increase in bandwidth demands and the growing number of high-performance servers being deployed worldwide are driving the need for 10 GbE Ethernet and new SFP+-based connectivity options," said Roy Siegel, general manager of Tektronix's Oscilloscope Business Unit. "By providing the industry's first automation and debug solution for validating SFF-8431 SFP+ designs, Tektronix is helping companies developing SFP+ products more easily bring innovative products to market with assurance that they meet regulatory requirements and provide optimal performance and reliability."
Six new measurements have been added, including VMA, rise time, Tx-Qsq, DDPWS, fall time, and uncorrelated jitter (UJ). Corresponding installation files are provided according to different signal types such as 8180, PRBS9, and PRBS 31. These signal-specific installation files help users perform measurements on different signal types or enter analysis and debugging modes.
Once the test bench is set up and the device under test is connected, the user simply presses the "Run" button to execute the selected test. The SFP-TX solution will remind the user to put the device under test into different test modes by displaying information at regular intervals.
