AD9220zpp The AD9220/AD9221/AD9223 is a high performance, single supply 12-bit analog-to-digital converter that uses a four-stage pipeline structure with a wideband input sample-and-hold amplifier (see Figure 1). This provides accurate digital output error correction for 12-bit data at a specified data rate, ensuring no bit errors over the entire operating temperature range. The AD9220/AD9221/AD9223 has two reference voltage structures, one using an internal reference voltage and the other using an external reference voltage. Let\'s discuss the internal reference voltage first. As shown in Figure 3, single-ended input gives the best dynamic performance. To optimize the dynamic specification, the common-mode voltage is 2.5V connected to VINB. We short VREF and SENSE together, which will produce a 1V reference voltage and a 2Vp-p input signal. The valid input signal range is 1.5V to 3.5V. A 10pF and a 0.1KF capacitor should be connected in parallel between VREF and REFCOM. This reference circuit structure can also be applied to differential circuits, in which VINA and VINB are driven by a transformer. In this case, the common-mode voltage Vcm is set to an intermediate value, that is, the CML pin of the AD9220/AD9221/AD9223 is connected to an adjustment terminal on the transformer. VREF can generate a voltage of 1V or 2.5V by connecting SENSE to either VREF or REFCOM pin. Note that the effective input range for each differential input is half of that of the single-ended input, so it becomes VC.-VREF/2 to Vcm+VREF/2o
