Abstract: In order to meet the increasingly high real-time requirements for preprocessing in infrared tracking systems, this paper proposes a median filter based on field programmable gate array (FPGA). This paper first analyzes the characteristics and advantages of the current FPGA development; and studies the structural characteristics of the FPGA chip XC2V1000 used in the design; and specifically discusses the implementation of median filtering in FPGA. The results show that the scheme is feasible and the filtering has a good real-time effect. [Author Abstract]
