Aiming at the bit synchronization problem, an open-loop bit timing estimation algorithm based on basis function decomposition is proposed. The algorithm first uses the result of basis function decomposition to perform correlation operation to reduce the timing deviation between the local reference signal waveform and the received signal waveform to within T/4; then, accurate bit synchronization estimation is performed based on the angle information provided by the correlation operation. The algorithm does not need to extract carrier phase information and has low complexity. Simulation results show that the algorithm has good estimation accuracy.
