The AD7798/AD7799 are low power, low noise, complete analog front ends for high precision measurement applications. They have a low noise 16-bit/24-bit Σ-Δ ADC with three differential analog inputs and an on-chip low noise instrumentation amplifier, allowing small signals to be directly input. When the gain is set to 64 and the update rate is 4.17 Hz, the root mean square (RMS) noise of the AD7799 is 27 nV and the root mean square (RMS) noise of the AD7798 is 40 nV. On-chip features include a low-side power switch, reference voltage detection, programmable digital output pins, fuse current control, and an internal clock oscillator. The output data rate can be set by software programming and can vary from 4.17 Hz to 470 Hz. The AD7798/AD7799 operate from a 2.7 V to 5.25 V supply. The AD7798 typically consumes 300 µA, while the AD7799 typically consumes 380 µA. Both devices are available in a 16-lead TSSOP package.
