A new vein image enhancement method combining fuzzy transform and retinex theory can solve the problems of low contrast, narrow dynamic range and uneven intensity distribution in near-infrared vein images. The optimal fuzzy transform is used to enhance the global contrast. The introduced Retinex method can enhance the image detail information and make up for the lack of details in the optimal fuzzy transform. Since the image is converted from the spatial domain to the fuzzy domain using a single parameter to optimize the membership function, the processed image is not optimal. This paper proposes a dual-parameter optimization membership function and an adaptive control parameter selection method. The experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the contrast between the vein image and the background. Compared with the experimental results of other methods, it can be seen that this method has better image enhancement performance.
