Highway Vehicle Monitoring System Based on PIC16F74 Single Chip Microcomputer

Abstract: In order to make the measurement of highway vehicle parameters accurate, stable, economical and practical, and realize the intelligent management of highway traffic, this paper proposes a new highway vehicle monitoring system that uses giant magnetoresistance sensors as vehicle parameter detection elements and PICl6F74 single-chip microcomputer as the signal processing and control core. The paper gives a system design scheme, and introduces in detail the basic principles of the vehicle parameter monitoring system, the hardware circuit structure and software flow of the signal processing system, and gives field experimental test data. The experimental results show that the measurement accuracy of the vehicle flow on the highway by this system is 100%, and the accuracy of the vehicle speed detection can reach more than 95%, which can completely replace the currently widely used buried coil measurement system.
